10TH AFRICAN ENGINEERING WEEK

The 10th African Engineering Week, which took place from September 9 to 13, 2024, in Luanda, Angola, is one of the most relevant events on the African continent for the engineering sector. Organized by the Order of Engineers of Angola (OEA) in partnership with UNESCO, the event stands out as a fundamental platform for the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and practical solutions to the challenges of sustainable development in Africa.

With the theme “Innovative Infrastructure Solutions for a Sustainable Africa and Rapid Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”, the African Engineering Week brings together specialists, engineers, academics, and leaders from more than 20 countries. The event includes lectures, workshops, and discussion panels, addressing key issues such as building resilient infrastructures, the role of renewable energies, and the development of advanced technologies that support the implementation of a greener and more inclusive economy in Africa.

Among the highlights of the week are initiatives aimed at empowering African engineers and promoting greater participation of young people and women in the field of engineering. These initiatives are seen as crucial to addressing the continent’s challenges, both in the context of rapid urbanization and the need to ensure sustainable resources for the growing population.

The partnership with UNESCO reflects the global relevance of the event, underlining the importance of engineering in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event also seeks to accelerate the implementation of the AfCFTA, facilitating trade and the development of infrastructures that promote economic integration among African countries.

The participation of Grupo Ramos Ferreira reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence in engineering and sustainable development. We are excited to share our experience, learn from other professionals, and explore new collaboration opportunities.

Therefore, the African Engineering Week stands out as an opportunity for leadership, collaboration, and innovation for engineers and policymakers, who are working to create a more prosperous, sustainable, and technologically advanced future for the entire African continent.
